Report: WJW For Sale

By Rich Heldenfels Published: March 24, 2013

Broadcasting & Cable, citing unidentified sources, reported here that "Oak Hill Capital Partners has put its Local TV LLC stations on the block."

Oak Hill brought WJW and other former News Corp.-owned stations in 2008 for $1.1 billion.  Besides Cleveland, News Corp. sold stations in Denver, St. Louis, Kansas City, Mo., Milwaukee, Salt Lake City, Birmingham, Ala., and Greensboro, N.C.

The Oak Hill unit operating the stations is called Local TV LLC. Its properties included nine stations formerly owned by the New York Times. The company currently consists of 21 stations; its somewhat skimpy website is here. Oak Hill's site is here.
