Some Things I've Been Listening To
I heard Peter Gammons tout Grace Potter & The Nocturnals on Jim Rome's show. A touting well deserved, as this live peformance of the song "Medicine" -- from their new self-titled CD --indicates:
I am very fond of Shelby Lynne, and of her most recent CD, "Tears, Lies and Alibis." (Also find her collection of Dusty Springfield covers.) Here's a live version of "Like a Fool" from "Tears, Lies."
Kudos also to Tracey Thorn and this song, "Oh, the Divorces" from her CD "Love and the Opposite":
I have also mentioned on Twitter/FB my enjoyment of OMD's "Save Me," built around the vintage Aretha Franklin cut of the same name. I should add that I have been playing all of their new CD, "History of Modern." You should do likewise.
