After the jump, the written announcements of the rallies.

Stewart: On last night's show, Jon Stewart made the earth-shattering announcement that he will hold the "Rally To Restore Sanity" in Washington, DC on Saturday, October 30 (location TBA). All reasonable people are welcome. View the announcement here: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-september-16-2010/rally-to-restore-sanity

An official proclamation can be found at www.rallytorestoresanity.com. Here's an excerpt:

"Ours is a rally for the people who've been too busy to go to rallies, who actually have lives and families and jobs (or are looking for jobs) -- not so much the Silent Majority as the Busy Majority. If we had to sum up the political view of our participants in a single sentence... we couldn't. That's sort of the point. Think of our event as Woodstock, but with the nudity and drugs replaced by respectful disagreement; the Million Man March, only a lot smaller, and a bit less of a sausage fest; or the Gathering of the Juggalos, but instead of throwing our feces at Tila Tequila, we'll be actively *not* throwing our feces at Tila Tequila. Join us in the shadow of the Washington Monument. And bring your indoor voice. Or don't. If you'd rather stay home, go to work, or drive your kids to soccer practice... Actually, please come anyway. Ask the sitter if she can stay a few extra hours, just this once. We'll make it worth your while."

As previously announced, "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" will be in Washington, DC to broadcast “When Grizzlies Attack: The Daily Show Midterm Teapartyganza,” a week of shows as part of its ongoing “Indecision 2010” coverage of the fiercely contested midterm elections. The special episodes, which will air nightly at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT from Monday, October 25 through Thursday, October 28, will feature news and analysis on heated races across the country from host Jon Stewart as well as reports from "The Daily Show" News Team (Samantha Bee, Wyatt Cenac, Jason Jones, Aasif Mandvi and John Oliver).

Jon Stewart, Rory Albanese and Josh Lieb are the executive producers of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" with Kahane Cooperman serving as co-executive producer. Supervising producers are Steve Bodow, Jennifer Flanz, Hillary Kun, Adam Lowitt and Jim Margolis. Jill Katz is the executive in charge of production. The series' head writer is Steve Bodow and it is directed by Chuck O'Neil.

Colbert: On last night's show, Colbert made a world-changing announcement that he will hold his "March To Keep Fear Alive" to oppose Jon Stewart's "Rally To Restore Sanity” in Washington DC on Saturday, October 30 (location TBA). View it here: http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/359382/september-16-2010/march-to-keep-fear-alive

The following declaration can be found on www.keepfearalive.com:

"America, the Greatest Country God ever gave Man, was built on three bedrock principles: Freedom. Liberty. And Fear – that someone might take our Freedom and Liberty. But now, there are dark, optimistic forces trying to take away our Fear – forces with salt and pepper hair and way more Emmys than they need. They want to replace our Fear with reason. But never forget – "Reason" is just one letter away from "Treason." Coincidence? Reasonable people would say it is, but America can't afford to take that chance. So join The Rev. Sir Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, D.F.A. on October 30th for the “March to Keep Fear Alive"™ in Washington DC. Pack an overnight bag with five extra sets of underwear – you're going to need them. Because, to Restore Truthiness we must always... Shh!!! What's that sound?! I think there's someone behind you! Run!"

“The Colbert Report” is produced by Jon Stewart’s Busboy Productions, Inc. in association with Colbert’s Spartina Productions, Inc. Stewart, Colbert and Tom Purcell are the executive producers with Meredith Bennett and Richard Dahm as co-executive producers. Jim Hoskinson is the director. Lisa Leingang is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.
