A chat with Akron's Melina Kanakaredes, star of "CSI: NY," is here. I have been talking with her for about 15 years now -- since I came to Akron, and she was working on "Guiding Light" and "NYPD Blue" -- and she remains among the friendliest and most accessible of celebrities.
From Saturday's print HeldenFiles, in case you missed it: A chat with Carter Bays, Shaker Heights native and co-creator of "How I Met Your Mother."
My weekly DVD column, topped by the first-season release of "The Mentalist," is here.
The photo above is from the first game at Infocision Stadium a week ago. U of Akron won easily. Yesterday, a game we also attended, the Zips lost badly. So I thought I'd recycle a picture from a better day.
The football excursion was part of what's been a Super Sports Weekend for the bride and me. We were also at the UA men's soccer game Friday night, where the nationally top-ranked Zips held off eighth-ranked Indiana, 1-0. That was one fun evening, and drew the biggest crowd ever at UA for a soccer game. We have been going to soccer games for a couple of years now and have season tickets this year.
