TCM Sets Korean War Movie Marathon

TCM will mark the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War beginning June 24, the eve of the anniversary, and continuing for 24 hours.

From the network:

TCM’s commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Korean War will include the TCM premiere of the exceptional documentary This is Korea (1951), directed by John Ford. Other films include such dramas as The Steel Helmet (1951) and Men of the Fighting Lady (1954), as well as the TCM premieres of Men in War (1957), Tank Battalion (1958), The Bamboo Prison (1954), All the Young Men (1960) and Hell in Korea (1956).

Thursday, June 24

8 p.m. Men in War (1957) – starring Robert Ryan, Aldo Ray and Vic Morrow.

10 p.m. This Is Korea (1951) – documentary directed by John Ford.

11 p.m. The Steel Helmet (1951) – starring Gene Evans, Robert Hutton and Steve Brodie

12:30 a.m. Men of the Fighting Lady (1954) – starring Van Johnson, Walter Pidgeon and Louis Calhern.

2 a.m. I Want You (1951) – starring Dana Andrews, Dorothy McGuire and Farley Granger.

3:45 a.m. Battle Circus (1953) – starring Humphrey Bogart, June Allyson and Keenan Wynn.

5:15 a.m. Tank Battalion (1958) – starring Don Kelly, Marjorie Hellen, Edward G. Robinson Jr. and Frank Gorshin.
