Time Warner Adds RLTV; Local Chef To Appear on Channel

By Rich Heldenfels Published: December 6, 2012

Meals on Wheels for Stark & Wayne Counties passed along this news recently:

We have arranged for Sonny Sonnhalter, our commissary manager, to appear on "Good Food, Good Deeds," a program hosted by Florence Henderson that airs on RLTV, a cable network geared to people 50 and above. The program is produced in association with the Meals On Wheels Association of America.

RLTV airs in Stark County on Massillon Cable TV and in Wayne County on Clear Picture Cable.  Sonny will be leaving for Los Angeles on Monday, Dec. 10, taping on Tuesday, and returning on Wednesday, Dec. 12. He is scheduled to appear on a segment along with actress Fran Drescher.

And Time Warner has added RLTV to its lineup. That official word:

Time Warner Cable has added RLTV, the only cable network and online destination for adults 50+, to its Digital Variety Tier on channel 154.  RLTV (www.rl.tv) offers a wide range of programming designed to engage, inform and resonate with a diverse audience of viewers 50+ in areas including health and wellness, relationships, transformation, exploration, finance and political and public policy issues.
“Viewers who are 50+ are seeking programming that reflects their lives and relates to their interests,” said RLTV Senior Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Corporate Development Patrick Baldwin. “We thank Time Warner Cable for its support and are delighted that we can help them deliver relevant programming to this vital audience.”
Generation 50+, the audience RLTV serves, is 100 million strong, including 80 million baby boomers, the last of whom turn 50 in 2014. It is this generation of knowledgeable and experienced adults that are redefining themselves as they continue to age, and are seeking relevant content to assist them on that journey.
RLTV’s original programming includes:
• Money Matters with Jean Chatzky, in which personal finance expert and Today Show finance editor Jean Chatzky offers relatable advice on how to manage money in today's complex economic environment;
• Good Food, Good Deeds, the groundbreaking series hosted by Florence Henderson and produced in relationship with the Meals on Wheels Association of America that combines the excitement of a cook-off with the life-saving mission of one of America’s most extraordinary philanthropic organizations; and
• Fix America, a series of specials that addresses and helps to reshape critical issues facing Americans today, such as the debt and the deficit, senior hunger, and education.
