Your Oscars DVD/Blu-ray Update
For those of you who watched the Oscars and are now thinking about seeing the movies without spending time at the multiplex, here is the most recent information I have gathered about the availablilty of big winners and other noteworhy titles from Oscar night. All are on DVD and Blu-ray unless otherwise noted.
"Argo" (best picture): Available now.
"Life of Pi" (best director): March 12, including a 3D version.
"Lincoln" (best actor): No date yet, but I'd expect one soon now that its Oscar fortunes have been set.
"Silver Linings Playbook" (best actress):: No date yet.
"Django Unchained" (best supporting actor, original screenplay): April 16.
"Les Miserables" (best supporting actress): March 22.
"Brave" (animated feature): Available now.
"Searching for Sugar Man" (documentary feature): Available now.
"Skyfall" (best song): Available now.
"Amour" (foreign language film): No date yet.
"Zero Dark Thirty" (should have won some big awards): March 19.
Others of note: "Flight," available now; "The Invisible War," now (DVD only); "How To Survive a Plague," Tuesday (DVD only); "Beasts of the Southern Wild," now; ":The Master," Tuesday; "The Sessions," now; "The Impossible," April 23.
