2010 Kent State football schedule notes
Kent State is expected to open the 2010 football season on Saturday, September 4 when the Golden Flashes host FCS opponent Murray State. It will be the first ever meeting with Murray State.
KSU will travel to Penn State to take on the Nittany Lions on Saturday, September 18. Kent State is 0-2 all time against Penn State, with the last meeting coming in 2003 when Penn State defeated the Flashes 32-10.
The Flashes will play Boston College for the third straight season, and the second straight season in Chestnut Hill. BC leads the all time series 2-0. Kent State will meet the Eagles on Saturday, September 25.
Kent State will host Army on Saturday, November 13. Kent State and Army played their only other meeting in 2006 when Kent State lost 17-14 in overtime on ESPN Classic.
As far as the conference schedule goes, Kent State can expect to play at Toledo for the first time since 1999. Kent State will also play at Western Michigan's Waldo Stadium and will take on the Broncos for the second straight season. The Flashes will also host the Ball State Cardinals for the first time since the 2003 season.
In the MAC East, Kent State will not play Buffalo. They will host Akron, Ohio and Temple and travel to Miami and Bowling Green.
