Basketball recruiting news

By admin Published: April 13, 2009

Dwain Williams coming to Kent State doesn't look like it will be a reality.  Steve Hare, recruiting expert  from the Kent Sports Report is saying that Kent State will look forward to other options at this point.  He is also reporting that Justin Manns, a 6-10 center from Owens Community College is in at Kent State.  Manns, who visited Kent State a couple weeks ago won't turn 20 until July.  He is young with plenty of upside, and will hopefully give the Golden Flashes more athleticism on their front line.  Kent State grew a little tired of waiting and worrying on the well traveled Williams to make up his mind.  Apparently, according to this report, Williams now has come out and said he will play for Hawaii next season and never publicy said he would play for the Golden Flashes.  Rodriguez Sherman is a player who red shirted this past season while recovering from off season knee surgery.  He is the player I would expect to step in next year and start at point guard.  This would also accelerate the learning curve of incoming freshman guard Randal Holt from Glenville High School in Cleveland.  Stay tuned as recruiting news continues to happen with the Golden Flashes basketball program.
