Chafin Named Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American
Freshman relief pitcher Andrew Chafin was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. It's the third consecutive year a KSU player has received this honor following Anthony Gallas in 2007 and Ben Klafczynski in 2008. Chafin was 4-1 on the season with eight saves and a 1.26 ERA that led all pitchers in the MAC and is second in KSU history for a single season. Earlier, Chafin was named MAC Freshman of the Year.
Senior Jason Patton was named to the All-Tempe Regional team. In three games in Arizona Patton was 8 for 14 with seven RBI and four runs scored.
