Senior forward Chris Evans was honored with his second Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week Award this season on Monday.

Evans shared this week's honor with Ohio's Walter Offutt after leading the Golden Flashes to two wins in as many games this week that included the first win ever by a MAC team against Nebraska.

Evans led Kent State to a 74-60 victory over the host Cornhuskers Saturday by averaging 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds and shooting over 66 percent from the field.

The 6-foot-8 senior forward made eight-of-nine shots en route to a team-best 19 points and six rebounds in a win that gave KSU its first win at a Big Ten school since 1970.

Evans scored five points in a 9-2 spurt to start the second half that put the Golden Flashes in the lead for good. He added another critical jumper with 10 minutes left after Nebraska had trimmed the lead to one point.

Earlier in the week on Tuesday, Evans had a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) as the Flashes defeated Bethune-Cookman 69-68 at the M.A.C. Center.

This season, Evans leads Kent State in scoring (17.2 ppg), rebounding (7.2 rpg) assists (2.2 apg), steals (2.4 spg), blocks (1.0 bpg), field goal percentage (.597) and free throw percentage (.781).

Kent State (4-2) plays again Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. when it travels to Youngstown State (3-3).
