Kent State men's golf wins Towson Invitational
Following a sixth place finish in the 2008 NCAA Championship, the Kent State men's golf team is off to a strong start in 2009, easily winning the 11th Annual Towson Invitational Golf Tournament over the weekend.
Kent State sophomore John Hahn won the tournament--his first career win. Hahn's five-under par 211 (68-73-70) led the way for four Kent State golfers to finish among the top five positions. Mackenzie Hughes and Nick Latimer tied for second place shooting a three-under par 213, while David Ludlow finished fifth with a 217.

Softball Sweeps MAC Weekly Awards
Kent State's Kylie Reynolds and Leah Archual were named MAC East Division Pitcher and Player of the Week Tuesday by the conference office.
Kent State took two games from Buffalo over the weekend to improve to 10-14, 2-0 in the MAC. The Golden Flashes will play six road games this week starting with a doubleheader at Robert Morris on Wednesday.

News & Notes
Dave Carducci of the Record Courier touched on some of the position changes going on with the football team this season including quarterback Matthew Hurdle moving to wide receiver. Also, Sal Battles will move back to his old high school position of quarterback.
Dave also looks at how the Wildcat offense in the NFL may give a boost to Julian Edelman's pro stock.
