Fisher update in Portsmouth
Al Fisher's Norfolk Naval Shipyard squad defeated Cherry, Bekaert & Holland on Friday night at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament by a score of 89-73. Fisher, who was bothered by a minor ankle injury in last night's game, started and played 27 minutes Friday night. Fisher went 4-8 from the field, 2-3 from the three point line and finished with 11 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and just 2 turnovers. That brings Fisher's two game total to 8-15 from the field, 4-6 from the three, 7 assists, 3 turnovers while averaging 22.5 minutes in two games. Fisher is averaging 11.5 points per game. Ironically, Fisher's squad will face Miami Redhawk star Michael Bramos' squad in the championship game tomorrow night at 8P.M. Bramos' two game totals thus far include 7-15 from the field, 4-8 from three, 4 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per game while averaging 9 points per game. Bramos' teammates in the event include Diamon Simpson from St. Mary's and Kyle McAlarney from Notre Dame.
