Flashes defeat Akron
SOFTBALL
The Kent State softball team defeated arch rival Akron on Saturday afternoon when Ashlee Hein hit a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 7th inning to lead the Flashes to a 3-2 victory in front of a large, spirited crowd at the Diamond at Dix. Tom Gaffney from the ABJ has the story here.
BASEBALL
The Kent State baseball team lost at Toledo on Saturday afternoon 7-4. Kent State falls to 23-7 and 8-2 in the MAC. Kent State will try to win the series with Toledo tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 1P.M.
FOOTBALL
The football team held their first scrimmage of the spring this morning at Dix Stadium. As is typical at this time of the year, the defense was clearly ahead of the offense. Junior running back Andre Flowers was taken off the field on a stretcher after a helmet to helmet hit caused numbness to his extremities. He was taken to the hospital and has since been released and Dave Carducci from the Record Courier is saying that he has a concussion and a stinger.
