Flashes defeat Ohio State
Kent State was able to outlast Ohio State on Wednesday night, coming up with a 8-7 win in Columbus at Bill Davis Stadium. Redshirt junior catcher Cory Hindel (Tallmadge) led Kent State, going 3 for 4 in the game, including the game winning RBI in the top of the seventh inning. Hindel began the scoring with a two run RBI triple in the top of the second inning. Freshman Andrew Chafin picked up his fifth save of the season. Chris Tremblay, playing second base on Wednesday, was outstanding defensively and had four hits and two runs scored. Anthony Gallas had three hits and 3 RBI. "I expected a tight ballgame," Ohio State head coach and former KSU head coach Bob Todd said. "I didn't think either team was going to walk away with this game. I think both teams were thinking about their conference weekends ahead with regard to their pitching, but each was also trying to win this ball game." Kent State will return home Friday and open a three game series with Bowling Green. Friday's game is at 3P.M.
