Flashes improve to 7-1 with 83-79 victory over visiting Youngstown State

KENT: Another strong team effort Wednesday night allowed Kent State to overcome a second consecutive opponent featuring a 30-point plus scorer, as the Golden Flashes edged Youngstown State 83-79 at the M.A.C. Center.

Kent State sophomore Nate Terhune was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week Monday following his performance in the Golden Flashes’ 44-13 win at Ohio Nov. 19th.

KSU Sr. F/C Mark Henniger earns MAC Player of the Week honors

Kent State senior forward/center Mark Henniger was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week today.
 

The Massillion-Jackson High School product averaged 13.0 points and 4.7 rebounds as he helped the Golden Flashes improve to 6-1 on the season with a three-games-in-three-days  weekend sweep at the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic subregional hosted by Kent State at the M.A.C Center.

KENT: Niagara featured standout guard Antoine Mason, whose game-high 31 points matched his nation-leading 31.3 scoring average Saturday night in subregional play of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic hosted at the M.A.C. Center.

Flashes save best for last in season finale 44-13 victory over host Ohio

The Kent State football team saved its best performance of the season for last, trouncing host Ohio 44-13 on Tuesday at Peden Stadium in the Golden Flashes' season finale.

The Flashes all-around best game of the year included the most points scored in a game, the largest margin of victory and season highs of 29 first downs and 537 yards of total offense.

KENT: The wins have come sparingly this season for the Kent State football team, but the third one will be remembered for some time by the 16 senior players who suited up for their final time Wednesday night at Dix Stadium.

With contributions from a handful of seniors – including versatile Dri Archer on offense and shifty Roosevelt Nix on defense – host Kent State kept Miami winless with a 24-6 victory on a memorable Senior Night.
