Kent Baseball Wins MAC Championship, to Play UCLA
The Golden Flashes took home the 2010 Mid-American Conference Tournament championship on the heels of winning five games in three days and a heroic performance from junior lefty Kyle Hallock, who notched both wins on the final day of the tournament.
It is Kent's eighth tournament championship in school history.

Phil Steele's Preseason All-MAC Teams
Legendary college football personality Phil Steele has been unveiling his preseason all-conference teams over the last two weeks, with the Mid American Conference being featured on Monday.
Kent State featured 16 players over Steele's four All-MAC teams. One of those 16, senior FS Brian Lainhart, was named to the Preseason All-American fourth team. Lainhart led the MAC and was fourth nationally with seven interceptions (one shy of the school record), and his 15 career picks is currently tops in the country. The school record for career interceptions is 19.

Kent To Play In National Spotlight
The Golden Flashes will see a little extra limelight this season, as their non-conference game against Penn State University on Sept. 18 will be nationally televised on either ESPN or ESPN 2.
The game will take place at what might be the loudest stadium in all of college football, Beaver Stadium, at noon. A very interesting experiment using the relocation of seats to amplify the noise made by fans will further amplify that home-field advantage.
