Kent Baseball Wins MAC Championship, to Play UCLA
The Golden Flashes took home the 2010 Mid-American Conference Tournament championship on the heels of winning five games in three days and a heroic performance from junior lefty Kyle Hallock, who notched both wins on the final day of the tournament.
It is Kent's eighth tournament championship in school history.
The 2010 NCAA Baseball Tournament Selection Show aired on ESPN today, placing Kent State (39-23) in the Los Angeles Regional Bracket. Kent will be making the cross-country trip to face the sixth seed in the entire tournament and top seed in this bracket, UCLA (43-13), on June 4.
Should the Golden Flashes advance, they will face the winner of Louisiana State University (40-20) and UC Irvine (37-19).
Two quick notes:
- I apologize for the light coverage on the 2010 KSU baseball team. I didn't get to see much of them this year, and I'm not going to pretend like I did.
- God Bless to all our troops fighting both at home and overseas for our freedom. Please take a moment on this Memorial Day to thank them.
