Kent State baseball defeats Malone in extra innings

By admin Published: April 1, 2009

Kent State baseball improved to 17-6 yesterday by edging out Malone 3-2 in 10 innings.

Freshman reliever Andrew Chafin pitched "like a seasoned Division I college veteran," the Record Courier's David Carducci reports.

Another Kent State freshman, Travis Shaw, drove in the winning run with a bases loaded single.

The Flashes head to Penn State today looking to avenge last week's 9-2 home loss to the Nittany Lions.
