Football injuries stacking up
For anyone looking for last week’s game I actually wrote the game story for the paper. You can check that out here.
It’s rivalry week. Everyone is fired up to play Akron. It was just two years ago Kent State surprised everyone and returned the Wagon Wheel to Kent after starting the season slow. I believe they went on a five gamed winning streak after that. Can it happen again this year?

Softball releases schedule
Anyone who has met me knows how much I love the spring sports, especially baseball. Last year I started watching softball a little more intently as well. It’s a completely different sport and just as enjoyable, if not more, than baseball.
How many No.2 hitters in baseball and hit .299 and only have tow RBI’s on the year? Kent State’s Lauren Brocklehurst spent all of last year doing just that and doing it well, a master if the infield single.

Game 4: Kent State at Louisiana-Lafayette
Game 4: Kent State (1-2) at Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns(0-2)
At: Cajun Field in Lafayette, LA.
Kickoff: 7 p.m. EST.
MY THOUGHTS
Honestly this game really does not mean much in the larger picture of things as the Mid-American Conference schedule is just a week away. But for Doug Martin’s sake I hope the Flashes don’t take that main focus with them to Louisiana.
Hoops quick notes
For those of you wondering where this year’s basketball schedule is just hold tight. It is on its way. I was told today that there is one date still holding up its release. It is St. Mary’s if I remember correctly.
As soon as that is finalized the schedule will be good to go. You can count on seeing St. Mary’s, Kansas, Temple, UNC-Wilmington and Hampton on this year’s slate. The Flashes will also play either Texas A&M or Tulsa, depending on who wins early in the San Padre Invitational.

Kent State snaps nine-game losing streak
Kent State snapped the nation's longest losing streak by beating Delaware State 24-3 Saturday afternoon at the newly renovated Dix Stadium.
Edelman almost seemed like a one man show today as both Eugene Jarvis and Jameson Konz saw little to no action because of ankle injuries.

Delaware State preview
KENT STATE (0-2) Vs. DELAWARE STATE (1-0)
Game time: 2:00 p.m.
At: The Newly-renovated Dix Stadium.
The best cure for what ails the 0-2 Kent State football team right now would be a home victory, and no fumbles, in the newly renovated Dix Stadium.
