Kent State softball beats Akron, extends MAC East lead
In a battle of the top two MAC East teams, it was Kent State who bettered cross-town rival Akron 3-2 today.
The Golden Flashes softball team improved to 7-1 in conference play, while the Zips fell to 6-4, and 23-14 overall. Junior starting pitcher Kylie Reynolds improved to 5-1 against MAC teams, and 13-10 overall.
Sophomore catcher Ashlee Hein had a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Kent State the win, KentStateSports.com reports.
Kent State will meet Akron again tomorrow in Kent.
