KSU Basketball Receives 2012 Verbal Commitment
Better early than never.
Geno Ford and his staff have already received a commitment for the class of 2012 before tallying any for 2011.
Richard Smith, a 6'6 junior from the Richmond, Va. area, commited to Kent State on Friday.
NCAA rules prohibit Ford or his staff from commenting on Smith, but it's reported that Ford liked Smith's size, strength and work around the basket. Smith's coach at Chesterfield Community High School, Toby Campbell, added that Smith can handle the ball, has a high basketball IQ and can shoot the ball as well.
David Carducci (who for the record doesn't get the respect he deserves as a reporter) of the Record-Courier broke the story.
