KSU Claims Reese Trophy in Men's Athletics

By admin Published: June 1, 2009

It was another excellent season for athletics for Kent State University.  The Golden Flashes men's athletic programs were recently honored for having the top teams for the 2008-2009 school year.  Kent State won league titles in golf, indoor track & field and wrestling while basketball, baseball and cross country finished in third place.  The women's programs finished in second place to Miami for the Jacoby Trophy.  The Flashes earned championships in field hockey, gymnastics and golf.  This is the eighth straight year that Kent State has finished in third place or better in both standings.  Overall, KSU has six Jacoby trophies and four Reese titles.

Cleveland Indians scouting director Brad Grant praised the Kent State baseball coaching staff and the talent that the Flashes are able to produce year after year in addition to having very competitive teams.  Stephanie Storm has included that and much more in her KSU Notebook.
