KSU DB Darius Polk earns MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors
Stepping in to start in place of injured senior Norman Wolfe, Darius Polk was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week Monday.
Polk, a junior defensive back, recorded two interceptions in Kent State’s 23-7 victory at Buffalo Wednesday night, including a third quarter pick that ended one of the Bulls’ longest drives of the night.
Polk also had three solo tackles and a pair of pass breakups. His standout play helped the the Golden Flashes’ defense to limit the Bulls offense to nothing more than a 46-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass at the end of the first half.
