Kent State's 2013 schedule is highlighted by a Mid-American Conference Championship Game rematch with Northern Illinois, this time on the Golden Flashes home turf at Dix Stadium.
Fans still have to wait for the particulars - dates and times to be determined - but for now, opponents have been relased by the MAC office.
Kent State will visit two other MAC West Division teams in Ball State and Western Michigan next season, teams the Flashes posted second-half comeback wins over last year en route to a history-setting 11-win season and 8-0 conference mark. The rematches with the Cardinals and Broncos come at Dix Stadium.
Although the Flashes will have to wait another season before facing conference newcomer UMass, they will play five other East Division opponents, hosting Buffalo, Miami and Bowling Green, while travling to Ohio and Akron.
In the non-conference portion of the slate, Kent State hosts Liberty and makes three road trips - including their first ever visit to powerhouse LSU - followed by a trip to Penn State and then return to Ladd-Peebles Stadium, this time to face host South Alabama.
The Flashes lost to Sun Belt Conference champion Arkansas State 17-13 in the GoDaddy.com Bowl Jan. 6 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
