In the first game of Wednesday’s double header at the M.A.C. Center, the Kent State women’s team picked up its second consecutive victory and matched its win total from last season with a 69-46 win over visiting Niagara.
The Flashes (3-5) used a 28-4 run to end the first half and take a dominating 40-15-halftime lead and never looked back.
The Flashes had four players reach double figures in the blowout, led by senior guard Ashley Evans’ season-high 15 points. Junior forward Montia Johnson recorded a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Kent State seniors - guard Amber Dunlap and forward Cheylene Harper - each chipped in 10 points of the bench. Junior center CiCi Shannon did a little bit of everything in 31 minutes by contributing 11 rebounds, five points, three blocked shots and a steal and assist.
