Kent State Heavyweight wrestler Jermail Porter, who was the first KSU wrestler since 1986 to earn All-American Status, never played a down for the Kent State football team. Heck, he never played a down at Firestone High School either, form what I understand.
He may be getting fitted for a helmet now though.
Porter has drawn interest from "three or four" NFL teams as a possible undrafted free agent offensive lineman following this weekend's draft. Being 6-foot-6, 312 pounds and athletic has a way of getting one these types of opportunities despite experience.
The only team known to have worked out Porter is the New England Patriots.
``There have been three or four teams that have been very interested in him the last couple days. A couple of them came to work him out,’’ Kent State football coach Doug Martin said. ``I wish I would have had him.’’
