Many Kent State basketball fans have spent the last few months wondering and waiting on the future of talented wing player Robert Johnson from Bedford, Ohio. Steve Hare from the Kent Sports Report finally caught up with Johnson. Hare reports that Johnson said he will be a Prop 48 at KSU this year. He'll be enrolled in school and can do individual workouts, but cannot practice with the team. He'll need to qualify before he can play. The good news for KSU fans is that he will be at Kent State rather than a Junior College. The 6-6, 190 pound Johnson was a high school teammate of incoming freshman Randal Holt at Bedford, before Holt transferred to Glenville High School. Johnson is considered by many a point forward, a wing player who has tremendous vision and ball handling ability. "Robert is a skilled wing player with a major upside," said Head Coach Geno Ford at the time of the signing in mid November. "A capable scorer that can play multiple positions he is a consummate team player and unselfish with the basketball."
