Sprain isn't expected to keep Chris Evans from playing Wednesday
The right ankle sprain suffered by Kent State's Chris Evans in Saturday's 87-72 victory over visiting Central Michigan doesn't appear to be bad enough to keep the senior guard from playing in Wednesday's home game against Miami.
While Evans did not practice with the Golden Flahes Monday afternoon, he was seen walking to get treatment without the aid of crutches. In adidition, KSU coach Rob Senderoff sounded optimistic that Evans would play.
It could be a major blow to the Flashes (13-11 overall, 4-6 in Mid-American Conference) if Evans has to sit out against the RedHawks (8-14, 3-7).
Although Miami is stuggling under first-year coach John Cooper and sits in the MAC East basement in the league standings, Evans leads the Flashes (which are tied for third place in the MAC East Division with Bowling Green and Buffalo) in scoring (16.8) and rebounding (7.0) averages as well as total steals (46) and blocked shots (17).
