Spring Football Notes
The Kent State football team will begin spring practice this morning and conclude with the Blue and Gold game on April 24, which is open to the public. Here are some of the news and notes that have happened since the season ending victory over MAC Champion Buffalo and now.
Doug Martin and his staff welcomed 22 student athletes into the program at the signing day press conference on February 4.
The Golden Flashes announced their 2009 schedule on March 26. Three of the first four games will be at Dix Stadium, including the first two MAC foes.
The first depth chart was also released.
David Carducci is writing about the motivation the Golden Flashes have after that victory over Buffalo last year, as well as some of the main priorities going into spring practice.
Kent State will welcome two new coaches for the 2009 season. Craig Aukerman will be in charge of the linebackers and Richard McNutt will handle the cornerbacks. They replace Jason Nichols and Scott Booker who moved on to Toledo and Western Kentucky, respectively.

Dave Carducci sat down with head coach Geno Ford yesterday to discuss several things about the 2008-2009 season, and also looked ahead to the 2009-2010 campaign.
