Reports: Kent State basketball adds Marquiez Lawrence to class of 2013
Marion Franklin center Marquiez Lawrence, out of Columbus, has committed to play basketball at Kent State, according to Rivals.com's Corey Albertson.
Lawrence, 6-foot-8, 200 pounds, is the first big man in the class of 2013 for coach Rob Senderoff. According to Rivals.com, Lawrence already had offers from Albany and James Madison, and was connected with Xavier to some extent as well.

Kent State sophomore right-hander Emma Johnson (Groveport) was named the 2013 Mid-American Conference Softball Pitcher of the Year and selected to the All-MAC First Team.

Sophomore pitcher Brian Clark was named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District First Team Thursday, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
