Ladies and gents, the day we have all been waiting for is finally upon us. Kent State junior guard Tyree Evans will finally see his first game action for the blue and gold against UNC Greensboro tonight at the M.A.C. Center.
It’s about time. After dealing with all his off court issues – from his history to his eligibility – it is time to see if he is worth all the hype.
While I am excited to see what Evans can add to this team on the court, I don’t think the addition of him solves the most glaring need: another skilled post player who can rebound.
The Kent State roster is one person shorter now too. Redshirt sophomore forward Antonio DiMaria decided to leave the program at the end of the semester. He will attend Highland Community College in Kansas and be part of its basketball program.
It really didn't look as if DiMaria, who is yet another perimeter player, would ever come off the end of the Flashes' bench and the move may be about going somewhere that will let him play. it will be interesting to see where DiMaria lands after playing junior college ball. Another MAC school maybe?
