Vanderink will always have a spot in coach Doug Martin's heart.
On the bright side, Vanderink will now get the chance to jump start his coaching career.

“He will work with coach McManus, and he’ll work with our special team’s units. He’ll learn to work all of the computer systems and how to break down film. It will be a mentally challenging year for him because you think you know a lot when you are a player, but then you start coaching and all of a sudden you realize you don’t know very much. It’ll be a shock to him on that end, but he’s going to be a phenomenal coach.”
