Going to the chapel.... or farmers market

By Lisa Abraham Published: October 21, 2011

Something special will be going on this Saturday, Oct. 22, as the Stow Community Farmers Market finishes up its first season in grand fashion.

It's the final market of the season and when it ends at 2 p.m., vendors Rick Bittner and his finacee Julie, who operate Bittner's Bees of Thompson, Ohio, will get married at the market.

The pair sell honey, bees wax, lip balm and other bee products at the market.

Rev. Jim Case from Stow Community Church will officiate at the ceremony. Conveniently, the market is held in his church's parking lot, 1567 Pilgrim Drive, Stow.

Market organizer Gary Aleman said finishing up the innaugural season with a wedding makes it all the more special. He said the cake, flowers, and dulcimer music all are being provided by market vendors for the happy couple.

The Beacon Journal plans to have a reporter and photographer there to cover the festivities (barring any unforseen breaking news), so check out Sunday's paper for story.

Also on Saturday, the market will be hosting its Pumpkin Festival, with lots of pumpkins and pumpkin products for sale as well as pumpkin carving.
