Lettuce recall expanded
The company who produces the bagged lettuce for Giant Eagle grocery stores (see earlier Giant Eagle recall post) has recalled more than 2,000 cases of its products.
It was the Ohio Department of Agriculture that found that Giant Eagle brand Farmers Market shredded iceberg lettuce was contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Now, River Ranch Fresh Foods LLC of Salinas, Calif., has recalled
2,154 cases of various bagged salad products due to the potential of being
contaminated.
The expanded recalls includes these additional Farmers Market products from Giant Eagle: 7-ounce Parisian Blend (upc code 30034-30259); 9-ounce Leafy Romaine (upc code 30034-30364); and 12-ounce Romaine Garden (upc 30034-30220).
All of the products have a best-by date of Oct. 14.
