Acclaimed New York pastry chef Nick Malgieri has added more classes to his northeast Ohio visit in October.

Malgieri will be at the Western Reserve School of Cooking in Hudson on Oct. 1 and 2, where he will be teaching Italian Savory and Sweet Baking and Bread classes from his new book.

Just released on Monday is the new cooking class schedule from the Cucina at Gervasi Vineyard in Canton, where Malgieri will be teaching a bread class on Oct. 3, and a class on chocolate on Oct. 4.

Malgieri is the former Executive Pastry Chef at Windows on the World and a 1996 inductee into Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America. He is director of the baking program at the Institute of Culinary Education.

He is author of BAKE! and nine other cookbooks, including the James Beard winner How to Bake and the IACP/Julia Child Cookbook award-winner Chocolate.

Nick is a great teacher. The last time he was in Ohio in November 2010, he took some time to give me a few pointers on making the perfect pastry crust.
