Finley wins 2 events Saturday at CrossFit Games
Richfield's Betsy Finley was listed first in the cumulative standings after winning Saturday's two events at the Reebok CrossFit Games at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
Finley, 62, competing in the masters division for women 60 and over, has the same point total (423) as first-day leader Mary Schwing, 60, of Hawaii. Finley finished first in the snatch ladder and chipper on the second day of the event, while Schwing took second in both.
The chipper included deadlifts, pull-ups, box jumps, kettle bell swings and double unders. Finley completed the longest event of the weekend in 13:25.
The top 12 in the standings advance to Sunday morning's event, then the top six move onto the final. Finley won the national title last year in her first trip to the Games.
Sunday's competition appears to be a two-woman race. Lois Charlton, 61, competing out of the Northern California region, stands third with 383 points.
