Alabama's Julio Jones is considered the second-best receiver in the draft behind Georgia's A.J. Green. When it comes to players they model their games after, Green chose Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson, while Jones had a surprising answer.
"I like to play the game with a passion. Ray Lewis, I like the way he plays,'' Jones said of the Baltimore Ravens linebacker. "(Pittsburgh Steelers receiver) Hines Ward as well. I like the way he blocks and is committed on every play.''
Asked about emulating someone on the defensive side, Jones said, "I have a defensive mentality. I’m not scared to hit. I’m a physical guy. I look for that.
"I like to hit defensive players because they’re not used to getting hit. They’re used to hitting offensive players and getting them out of their comfort zone. So when I hit them, I try to get them out of their comfort zone.''
Jones attacked his combine workout Sunday with the same passion. According to a tweet from ESPN's Todd McShay, Jones ran the 40 yard dash in 4.39 seconds and hit 11-3 in the broad jump.
