Stricker lights up Muirfield Village
After recording a hole-in-one Friday at No. 8, Steve Stricker continued to play almost as if destiny is on his side at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
Stricker posted an eagle-2 on the second hole in Saturday's third round, then followed with an eagle-3 on the fifth hole. That put him at -13 under par; he currently stands 12-under through six holes, two in front of Matt Kuchar.
Stricker became the 13th player on the PGA Tour since 1983 to record eagles on a par-3, par-4 and par-5 in the same week of a stroke-play event.
According to the tour, Stricker had totalled only two eagles in his first 592 holes this year. He bested that with three in a span of seven holes.
Stricker was the only player in the field to shoot in the 60s in the first two rounds (68-67). The last player to do that for four rounds at the Memorial was 2005 winner Bart Bryant (69-69-66-68).
