Ads take on bed bug problem

By Mary Beth Breckenridge Published: August 6, 2013

Ohio State University is raising awareness of Ohio's bed bug problem with a series of public service announcments airing this week across the state.

The commercials aim to remove the stigma related to bed bugs and encourage people to take effective action if they have an infestation. One of the PSAs warns against using over-the-counter foggers or "bug bombs," which can scatter the insects and make the problem worse.

An excellent resource for Ohioans affected by the problem is the website of the Central Ohio  Bed Bug Task Force. It's filled with guidance on preventing, identifying and getting rid of bed bugs.
