Cheap, easy-to-make stink bug traps

By Mary Beth Breckenridge Published: April 21, 2014

Plagued by stink bugs?

A couple of do-it-yourself stink bug traps have come to my attention lately.

The first comes from entomologists at Virginia Tech, who made theirs by filling a disposable aluminum turkey roasting pan with a little water and dish soap and illuminating it with a desk lamp.

The other, developed by a guy in Pennsylvania, uses pop bottles and a cheap LED light.

The idea behind both traps is that the bugs are attracted to the light, enter the trap and can't get out.

Ingenious!
