Community gardens invited to publicize

By Mary Beth Breckenridge Published: March 5, 2012

Are you involved in running a community garden? Looking for a plot in a community garden where you can grow your own food this summer?

The Beacon Journal is trying to put gardens and gardeners together.

Community garden organizers are invited to publish information about their gardens right here on the Beacon Journal's website. That information will appear on my page,, as well as on the Beacon Journal’s home and garden page,

The gardens must be in Summit, Stark, Portage, Wayne or Medina County.

To submit information, go to the Beacon Journal’s UPublish site, click on “Submit Your News to UPublish” and write a brief announcement about your garden making plots available. Be sure to include this information:

• The name of the garden and/or the organization that’s sponsoring it.

• The garden’s location.

• Specifics about the garden plots that are available, including size, cost and how people should apply.

• Contact information, such as a phone number, email address and/or website.

Watch for announcements in the Beacon Journal's Home section telling readers how to find the information about community gardens.Feel free to include other information that’s helpful to participants, but please keep the article brief.
