Contest to award $25,000 transformation to a green space in need

By Mary Beth Breckenridge Published: March 7, 2014

You can help spruce up a park, community garden or other green space in your neighborhood by nominating it for a $25,000 transformation in Bridgestone Americas’ Fuel the Cause Contest.

The contest is intended to promote sustainability and recognize the importance of green spaces to our well-being.

But why a tire company?

Bridgestone recently introduced a line of tires called Ecopia, which are engineered to reduce fuel consumption. It’s promoting those fuel-efficient tires with a Rethink Green campaign, and the contest is part of it.

Nominations are being accepted until March 15. To submit a nomination, write 500 words or fewer describing the space and explaining how it would benefit from a transformation. You are also encouraged to upload up to three photos with your entry.

Encourage your friends to vote for your nominee at the contest site. The green space with the most votes wins.
