Copley resident wins yard makeover

David Canfield of Copley will be getting a front- or backyard makeover as the grand prize winner of Keep Akron Beautiful's Dreamscape raffle.

The winning ticket was pulled today in Akron's Alexander Park.

The landscaping work, valued at $10,000, will take place during a one-week blitz in early August. Before then, Canfield will meet with Dave Thomas of R.G. Thomas Landscape & Design to create a plan for the transformation.

First runner-up was Garry Moneypenny of Akron, who will receive his choice of mulch or compost blown into landscaped beds. Second runner-up Rob Lann of Akron will receive a $100 gift basket of gardening supplies.Third runner-up Sheila Wade of Akron will receive a bird bath.


The raffle raised $23,600 to support Keep Akron Beautiful's public Flowerscape gardens.
