Decor shop in Barberton specializes in repurposing

By Mary Beth Breckenridge Published: January 30, 2014

A sneak peek at a fun shop I’m writing about …

Alter’d Relics: Design Studio in Barberton is run by mother-daughter team Pam Andrella and Arica Neill. The two design enthusiasts revive old furniture and sell it at the shop, along with jewelry, home accessories and other items created to local artisans.

This is just a part-time gig for Andrella and Neill, so you can’t just stop in anytime. The shop is officially open from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays and during their monthly sales, but the two say it’s also open unofficially whenever they’re there and the lights are on.

Stop in tomorrow night, or check out their next monthly sale Feb. 14-16.

The shop is just south of Lake Anna Park at 554 W. Tuscarawas Ave., at the corner of West Tusc and Fouth Street Northwest.

Details are on their Facebook page and blog. And be sure to read my story in the Feb. 8 Beacon Journal and online at Ohio.com.
