Showroom to specialize in midcentury modern

News for fans of Mad Men-era design: The Ohio Design Centre in Beachwood is opening a new showroom Monday that will sell fine antiques and midcentury modern furniture and accessories.

The 1,400-square-foot showroom is a collaboration between Bello Design, which is already housed in the design center, and Spaces consignment store in Beachwood.

Love the All-American decor featured in This Old House magazine? Online retailer Wayfair.com has opened a This Old House Shop, trade publication Furniture Today reports.

The shop offers products inspired by stories in the magazine, Furniture Today says. Items will include furniture, lighting, faucets, textiles and tools.

Toast goes high-tech

We've all seen toasters that emboss your bread with images of your favorite sports team or cartoon character. Dutch designer Scott van Haastrecht has taken the concept a step further by creating a toaster that searches the Internet for an appropriate image to decorate your daily bread.

The Image Toaster connects to a computer and searches Google Images for a random picture related to the date, then bakes it onto your toast.
