I remember pressing leaves as a kid, but the results weren’t anywhere near as stylish as these framed leaves.
Best of all, they’re an easy do-it-yourself project.
The idea was developed by blogger Jenni Radosevich of I Spy DIY for the folks who make Rowenta irons. The project uses float frames, which are frames that sandwich artwork between two pieces of glass instead of having a solid backing.
The instructions are simple: Just gather some colorful fallen leaves, flatten them by ironing under a piece of waxed paper, and then sandwich a single leaf between the pieces of glass in the frame. The framed leaves look best displayed in a grouping.
