A couple of entrepreneurs are creating a farm deep below the surface of the bustling city, in a tunnel network beneath one of London’s subway lines.
That far below the earth’s surface, the temperature stays steady at around 61 degrees Fahrenheit year round, so energy needed for heating will be minimal. The farm will use LED lighting and hydroponics to make the system carbon-neutral.
The two have started a crowd-sourcing campaign to fund the venture. Check out this video to learn more.
