Magazine lists 100 best home products
This Old House magazine is out with The TOH Top 100, its list of the 100 best new home products of the year.
A few of my faves:
- EcoTec solid surface countertops, made from soybeans. They’re scratch resistant and cost about one-third as much as Corian, the magazine says.
- ACP’s Aspect peel-and-stick backsplash tiles, which can go right over an existing backsplash. The magazine highlights the honeycomb style, but the tiles come in several styles in cool brushed metals.
- Craftsman’s lighted long-nose pliers with a built-in LED to light the work surface. The light is powered by three watch batteries.
- Pottery Barn’s Mirrored Cabinet Media Solution, a slim wall-hung cabinet that hides a flat panel TV. Its mirrored doors look like old windows.
- Ecobust, a chemical product that breaks up concrete without the need for a jackhammer.
The whole list is in the magazine’s November/December issue and is also on its website.
