Quiz reveals your decorating personality
I've always had trouble defining my decorating style. I love classic, traditional architecture, but I don't like stuffy formality. I like warm, bold colors and lots of shelves to display family photos and favorite things. I'm drawn to old but not particularly valuable furniture, marked with scars that remind me that someone used and loved it before I did.
I never would have called my style boho, but according to interior designer Taniya Nayak, that's the look I like.
Nayak, of HGTV fame, has devised a quiz for off-price retailer HomeGoods to help people define their design personality. You just look at 36 photos and pick the five you respond to most, and that information is used to match you with a style.
It's not exactly scientific, but it's fun. And you know what? I really like the photos of the boho rooms that Nayak posted on Pinterest for inspiration, especially the one above (except I'd ratchet down that orange paint a bit). And she hit the nail on the head when she said I'm passionate, I love color and reusing things, and I "can't get enough of foraging for a good deal."
Which is kind of a nice way of saying I'm cheap. But I'm OK with that.
Take the Stylescope quiz for yourself, and see what it says about you.
